Scaresville Terms and Conditions

Booking and admission

1. A ticket booking secures entry to Scaresville on the date during the time slot booked. Ie if you have booked in the 7 to 8pm time-slot you may arrive up to 7.55pm and you will enter between 7 and 8pm. Exact entry time during that time-slot will be determined by tickets issued on arrival (usuallyon a first come, first served basis but this is not guaranteed).

2. If ticket holders arrive after the period booked has expired, Kentwell will use reasonable effort to fit them in later advertised time-slots, if there is space but usually after ticket holders who have booked for that time-slot. Refunds

8. Once tickets are booked there are no refunds. However, if requested at least 48 hours before the booked time slot, Kentwell may, at its discretion, swap the booked time slot for a later one so long as the ticket holder pays the appropriate additional cost (if any) or create a credit that the ticket holder may use for some other later Kentwell event upon such terms as Kentwell may stipulate.

Weather

9. Scaresville will continue whatever the weather. Ticket holders should dress suitably with appropriate footwear for the weather on the night. Do not bring or raise umbrellas within Scaresville. Ticket holders must keep moving and not occupy scare areas to keep out of the weather and thus interfere with the progress of others.

Going Round Scaresville

10. Ticket holders should keep together in the group in which they entered. Members of the group should not race on ahead or lag behind. The group should proceed steadily so as not to merge with group(s) ahead or behind. Scaresville saff may halt groups to separate them out if they are getting too close.

11. Ticket holders must keep to the designated route which is defined by paths, tracks, flares, lights, ropes, barriers & signs. DO NOT climb over or through barriers of any sort.

12. Scaresville makes much use of darkness to create its scares. Underfoot may be uneven (by design or naturally) so ticket holders should pay attention, take care and watch their step.

13. For some scares there is a by-pass enabling ticket holders to avoid that scare. However those taking this option should wait for the rest of their group to re-convene before moving on.

The Scares

14. DO NOT touch any exhibits, or extinguish or move any flares or lights.

15. DO NOT push, punch, grab or in any way touch any of the Scarers. If you violate this rule you may be asked to leave without a refund.

16. Anyone too scared should shine a low value torch which will be taken to signify this fact. This should mean that some scares will not operate but there is no cannot guarantee of this. When a scare does not operate it will not operate for the whole group. Torches must not be used to pan round or otherwise try to illuminate the whole area or otherwise light up or destroy the visit of other groups.

17. Anyone too scared to continue should look for signs for, or ask any scarer for directions to, the nearest exit.

Accidents

18. In the event of an accident, the group should stay where it is and call “Help Accident !” and wait for a member of staff to attend. Thereafter follow directions given by staff.
